Social Distancing vs. Spiritual Isolation

Kendall Harness   -

In this time of social distancing it is important to remember not to isolate yourself spiritually. For most, church, friends and being surrounded by positive influences is what saved your life. Either from the pits of depression or from the clutches of fear or the deepest darkest sin, you found your freedom amongst God’s people. Social media is an incredible tool for moving information into the lives of its participants. This is both a blessing and a curse. We are able to move information faster than we ever have before, but if not used properly and filtered correctly sometimes that information can become toxic. We have to fill ourselves and surround ourselves with the same kind of positive influences that God brought us in the first place. It’s no coincidence that God tells us not to forsake gathering together, and even though we might not gather physically I encourage you to gather online with us.

I invite you to join an online church. Don’t wait. Don’t hesitate. This Sunday make time, take a shower, get dressed and do church in your own home, with your family. It won’t be perfect, it will be different and even though we won’t be able to physically look at one another, the power doesn’t come from the building it comes from God’s people. Get plugged in and don’t miss a Sunday!
